Uncle,
I am a proud democrat and those donkeys sensed that and left me alone.

Unfortunately, the donkey I used ain't for sale! A little about the two political parties in America: The donkey is in fact the Democratic Party's symbol just as the elephant is the Republican Party's symbol!
Here is a little history:http://www.factmonster.com/ipka/A0881985.html

The Democratic Donkey and the Republican Elephant

Ever wondered what the story was behind these two famous party animals?

The now-famous Democratic donkey was first associated with Democrat Andrew Jackson's 1828 presidential campaign. His opponents called him a jackass (a donkey), and Jackson decided to use the image of the strong-willed animal on his campaign posters. Later, cartoonist Thomas Nast used the Democratic donkey in newspaper cartoons and made the symbol famous.

Nast invented another famous symbol—the Republican elephant. In a cartoon that appeared in Harper's Weekly in 1874, Nast drew a donkey clothed in lion's skin, scaring away all the animals at the zoo. One of those animals, the elephant, was labeled “The Republican Vote.” That's all it took for the elephant to become associated with the Republican Party.

Democrats today say the donkey is smart and brave, while Republicans say the elephant is strong and dignified.

My dear Ranjini,

Ur comments show
1. U ration food and breakfasts to ur Valentine but splurge on ur pet cat. Dont let the Human rights activists know of this..
2.. U seem to be having some divine powers. The Red Sea parted for Moses and Yamuna parted for safe passage of Krishna. For u and ur son the sea of donkeys parted. I'm proud to have a niece with such divine powers. I am going to the media to hog some limelight  by quoting ur comment.
3. U said that u r a democratic donkey. What are the other brands available out there? Republican or fascist donkeys? Fill in more details.
The donkey that u painted using graphics looks nice. I can sell it in India for some brand logo and make a packet if not a fortune. I take ur permission for granted.
During ur next visit to India follow my advice.
Ramarao.

My dear yashasvi,

Thanks for ur meaningful comment. I keep hearing of aam admi do we hava Hindi expression ?

If u ask me honestly we all form part of the herd as we voted such politicians to the parliament and other governing bodies to treat us like donkeys. The Donnkeys days of glory seem to have come but the days of aam admi are still a lomg way to go.
Again u called me sir,
Ramarao.

Dear Uncle,

Donkeys are going to beat the elephants come next elections in America!! So, they are heading somewhere after all!

Being a cat owner, I can say that we do tend to splurge on our kitty a lot! I spend more time at the grocery store in the pet aisle than I do in the vege section. Our persnickety kitty has developed a taste for certain flavors of seafood only!

I love donkeys! I once was standing on a river bank in India with my then 3 year old son. Suddenly out of nowhere came a sea of donkeys (about 200 of them!!) hurtling down the embankment, basically locking us between the water and themselves! As I stood there frozen not knowing what to do, these noble gentle creatures ignored that herd mentality and suddenly parted into two groups! They just left me and my son untouched.

My heart goes out to all those famished overworked Indian donkeys that have earned no empathy or sympathy in our great land of Ahimsa!
Hope we learn a thing or two from donkeys lovers in Mexico!

Ranjini (I am a Democratic donkey!!!!!)

Donkey ... well a very useful animal, cheap maintenance and high utility...... an average man's pet in villages..... when the coommon MAN could not get the attention how could common man's pet donkey expect the attention.

Donkey and common man share similar fate.

Both are significantly useful and hard working and both never get any attention.

And above all, when the common man in India started eating well, the US President remarked it as the cause of inflation for the world !!!!!!!

Rao Sir, thanks for such a   thought provoking topic....

yashasvi
