Beautiful and inspiring write.....Yes every one  should donate for  human cause...all religions guide us to donate 10 percent of our  income....Even If we cant donate to such extent, still we should  donate  some amount of our  earning.....yash

Yes, giving to the poor and the needy gives immense satisfaction.

Search hard for your almirahs in winters and you will come up with sweaters, trousers and quilts that you think might be useful but you havent used for years. Give them to the people shivering in winters. It is actually not a bad idea to spend a night out in winter, just to have an idea what the poor pass through and how merciless can cold weather be.

Two weeks ago a research has proved that money can give happiness if it is spent on others. But many cling to it desperately. They have a fortress of rationalization to cling to their wealth. I wont be taken for a ride, the other person is fooling me, I wont be taken advantage of, the person is suffering because of his karma my parting with my wealth might not be helpful etc.

Begging is bad but India's population is so large there cant be enough jobs for all. Abroad there is provisioning for unemployment and people get unemployment support. Not in this country. The govt cannot take care of its poor but keeps advertising not to promote begging, a catch 22 situation indeed.

But more than beggars it would be a good idea to pay the people who work for us fair wages. This and a giving nature and you dont need to go to temples at all. God loves people who loves his people.

Excellent post. Keep up the good work!

Nargis garu,
It is not often that u visit my space. thanks for ur visit and comments. I attend some weddings and receptions where the parties involved sport so much gold and precious stones and display their wealth. They spend enormous amounts on food and drink but dont spare a few rupees for the poor. My heart revolts at the sight of such people. I had seen the NRIs who raise contributions for construction of temples and giving garlands made of pure diamonds to Gods. They could have easily helped so many poor fellows back hopme. Mind u all of them prospered by subsidised education but the moment they leave the shores of Indioa they forget their roots and do not lift even a little finger to help their poor brethern. I can rave like this for hours but I dont want to. All I want to do is give a wake up call to all to  lift 25% of us who are languishing below the poverty line.
Thanks for ur visit and comments.
Ramarao.
